Post Tomb of the Primeval kings

im a newbie at this game, so my 1st character (also the only character that im still playin) is a E/N .....ya i know worst combination ever ....but ehem, that not my point.

1/Why in this Tombs, Rangers w/ BP (btw, wat that mean ??) and Necro w/ Orders (is it Orders of Pain or Order of Vampire ???) seem to be the dominated classes in this tomb ??

2/also, i noticed that W-tanks r "completely useless"-quote from 1 guy PM me when i was GLF tanks- in this tomb ??

3/is there any other Strat for "outcaster" -then again, same guy pm me- such as W and E ??

4/ if answer for #3 is yes, then wat kind of E build should i be ?? Fire/Air/Earth/Water Ele with Necro's Curse/Death magic/Blood magic secondary ?? i'll post my current entire of spells list if necessary

thx guys !!

Tombs can be done with any build. However, most people run B/P groups since they are easy and fast to do tombs. B/P is barrage pet. Its 5 rangers with barrage, pets, and spirits that improve arrow damage. Its one orders necro (you are correct, either order of pain or order of vampire). One Minion Master Necro. And one monk.

Warriors are bad in ToPK because of the skill Fingers of Chaos, which cause blindness pretty much all the time on warriors.

Eles can still be used in groups. Just go some form of nuking/aoe damage.

I would like to see a group kind of bring a DoA build into Tombs. That would bring a more need from monks, eles, and wars.

Also im pretty sure there is a solo build with an assassin. I could be mistaken but i think there is 1 on wiki. Might wanna give that a look.

yeah, an A/Me solo build is out there, but it takes like a day and a half to clear all 4 stages.

bp is hot because its fast and easy. can be done in about an hour or less, and is basically just hitting one button over and over (barrage for rangers, OoV on orders, some kind of minion on MM, spammable heal on monk).

and yes you can run a balanced build there, but why would you (can take well over two hours in your average PUG)? i use do runs with my warrior back in the day, runs averaged about two and a half hours, and about 10 candy canes. fingers of chaos is just too disruptive for your average balanced build.

I've been in B/P groups that use a nuker Ele instead of a 5th B/P ranger - works just as well.

I've played a stance tank in the early days of Tombs, too. The only job I had was to form a wall between the grasps and the rest of my party on stairs and other narrow places with another tank. Boring job and slow progress FTL!

every time i check in tombs, EVERYONE there is a R or N.. very few M or anything else.

Although this may sound rediculous, the last few times I have been doing tombs in an BP group was with two zaishen hench monks. Took about 58 minutes each time, with only a couple of deaths. The hero controls make it so easy. The new AI wants to go straight for them, but with the MM in front blocking them, they dont attack for like 6 seconds while they try to break the wall. Never works, and most of the time we wipe them out before they even land a big hit. even works on the terrorwebs and meteor, its awesome. Just keep the hench in the back to heal and shoot everything down as normal. You will notice a delay in their time to attack the minions.

What about using a dervish to tank instead of a warrior ?

Mesmers and the 4 non-core professions aren't effected by fingers of chaos, so a dervish with one of those as secondary could be interesting. Actually, would a group consisting of people only using professions combos uneffected by the fingers work there ?

Then again, B/P groups are the most effective way to do things there. But they get boring after a while.

When i do ToPK i expect to get some rare golds either from chests or drops, Ectos, and of course at the final stage after defeating the Darkness some green weapons.
